This is an excellent electric skillet! My husband thought I was crazy to spend 9 for an electric skillet since all the others we’ve had only lasted a year or two before the finish flaked or a leg or handle fell off. Before making a decision, I researched a lot of consumer review websites and found this skillet to be highly recommended. I’ve never been a fan of Cuisinart, believing that their pots and pans are over-rated and over-priced. This skillet proved me wrong. We use it weekly — fried chicken, pot roasts, casseroles, pancakes, etc. It cleans right up with hot water, soap and a sponge and still looks new. Haven’t had anything burn or stick to the finish. And my husband loves it.
It is heavy but that keeps it safely in place as you’re cooking and stirring. The only con is that it doesn’t simmer as low as I’d like it to (but it’s way better about it than any of the others I’ve had). If the finish holds up, I can deal with that.
